Zuni artist Porfilio Sheyka was active from1960's until his death in 2001. He was best known for his figural channel inlay of animals and birds. He worked with his wife Ann on many pieces. This beautifully made Quail belt buckle is set with turquoise, jet, yellow lip shell and coral. Parts of the figure are the distinct, slightly raised inlay design. Fine etching is seen on the feathers and legs. The detail throughout this buckle is a wonderful example of one of Zuni's most talented artists. Hallmarked with his P.
The buckle measures 3" long by 1 3/4" tall and will fit a 1 1/2" belt.
