Zuni artist Ronnie Calabaza was active from the 1970's. He is best known for his figural mosaic inlay with beautifully carved raised areas on his figures. This beautifully made Zuni Shalako bolo is set with turquoise, carved jet, carved Mother of Pearl, coral, and clam shell, all set on a black jet background. The beautiful silver work adds the final touch to this bolo. The detail throughout this bolo is a wonderful example of one of Zuni's most talented artists. This one is hallmarked with his ROC Zuni NM.

The bolo measures 4 1/2" tall by 2 3/8" wide with hand crafted 2 1/2" tips. The black braided leather with tips total length is 33" long.
