Description

Navajo Pearls are entirely crafted by hand and are very time consuming and labor intensive, therefore much more expensive than bench made beads. Bead making is most often the result of a multigenerational family tradition. You will see this art carried on for decades within the same family. Navajo pearls are so versatile, they can be worn as is or with a pendant in the center and go with most everything you wear. Fewer Navajos are making quality beads, so they are becoming rarer.

This stunning necklace and earrings were made by well-known bead maker Virginia Tso. For Virginia, bead making is a family tradition that goes back many years and has been passed down from generation to generation. Virginia learned silversmithing from her paternal grandmother, Helen Silversmith who lived to be 108 years old. Virginia has been making beads for over 40 years. The combination of fluted, saucer and melon beads adds a beautiful overall look to this necklace. An added antiqued patina graces the entire necklace. Hallmarked TSO.

The necklace is 19" total length, with the large fluted beads 1 /2" wide. The post earrings measuring 1 1/2" long. Necklace weight 62.2 grams. A lovely necklace and earring set that will look great with most everything you wear.
