These great Peshlakai earrings
c.1940’s are both unique and cute. Fine stamp work graces both the wings and
body with delicate setting of stones. They appear to be horseflies, rather than
bees. Beautifully crafted these wonderful earrings are not hallmarked but have the
exact same stamp as found on the hallmarked butterflies. Purchased at the same
time and location. Stamped sterling.
These wonderful pieces were acquired with a
collection of several, Fred Peshlakai pieces that were purchased directly from
Fred's shop on Olvera St. in Los Angeles in the early 1940's. More information
is available on provenance.
The horse fly earrings measure 1 1/4" long by 3/4" wide. A matching set
of pins are also being offered for sale.
