This beautiful bolo tie is the work of jewelry artist Rick Manuel. He is known for his beautiful overlay work which often depicts the land, people and the traditions of his Tohono O’Odham heritage. His use of heavy-gauge silver and precise overlay work are both present in this wonderful piece. It measures 2 ” in diameter, with heavy 2 ½” tips on a soft black, braded and collared leather. Rick was born in Sacaton, Arizona in 1950 and began his silversmith career in the mid 1970's. He is registered with Gila River Pima through his mother and with the Tohono O’Odham through his father. He grew up on the Tohono O’Odham reservation in the Santa Rosa Village and is usually referred to as Tohono O’Odham. Rick is a self taught silversmith.
