This very large belt buckle is truly an amazing Fred Peshlakai piece. Repousse work with stamp work surrounds 2 large Blue Gem turquoise stones. You must look close at the fine stamp work on the edges of the raised repousses, to see the just how perfectly placed these designs are. He also created a raised belt loop holder that will hold the buckle even with a leather belt. Very ingenious for this early era. The deep rainbowed patina tells the age and early talents of Fred Peshlakai (1896-1972). Hallmarked with the F.P. on his arrow.
The buckle measures 5 3/16" long by 3 11/16" tall. Will fit a 1 3/4" belt or smaller. In excellent condition.
