This lovely Silver and Gold Overlay bolo is signed by its maker, Hopi
Silversmith Steven Sockyma with his SS mark. Steven began producing in 1969. He
was born in the Third Mesa village of Hotevilla. Beautifully detailed 14 K gold
Kokopelli and corn stalk figures with his precise overlay work. This
beautifully crafted bolo is a testament to his fine abilities.
The bolo measures 2 1/2" tall by 1 7/8” wide, with the tips measuring 2 ½”
long.
This bolo is one of many collected over years by a Physician/professor that wore his bolos every day to his classroom and lectures. Many have small stickers showing the date he wore them and in what class he was teaching. It's an honor to share some of his special bolos with others.
