An early 1965 inlaid bolo tie by well-known Zuni artist Dennis Edaakie. Often working with his wife Nancy, their exquisite workmanship is considered among the best stone-to-stone inlay of all time. Dennis and Nancy are most well-known for their beautiful bird images, which they began producing in the early 60's. This being one of the earlier pieces by Dennis, the detail and over all look is some what different than his more recent work. Hallmarked Dennis E.

This outstanding Bolo features a beautiful Cardinal, with the central image inlaid with red coral and black jet. Accents of coral berries, rainbow abalone shell leaves, framed with a pin shell design. All stones are precisely set in a silver background. Please take note of the fine features of the bird. The bolo measures 2 3/8" long by 2 1/4" wide, tapering to 1 1/2", with 2 1/4" silver bolo tips.
