This stunning, Navajo Ring is set with a high dome Natural Villa Grove Turquoise cabochon. The Villa Grove mine, once known as Hall mine, is located northwest of the town of Villa Grove in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. The Mine was last owned by George Musik and before that by Menalis Winfield. Mining at this location started as early as the 1890’s for copper with major turquoise operations beginning in the early 1900’s. The Villa Grove turquoise has not been actively mined since the early 1960's. This ring was hand fabricated by a Navajo silversmith Roger Skeet. This piece is not signed, but is known to be by the named artist from family providence. The high domed stone measures 1" long by 5/8" wide, set in a hand fabricated smooth bezel, perfectly framed with silver twist wire. Beautiful hand crafted drops are placed on a triple split shank. The ring is a size 6.
