Joe Herrera Quintana (1915-1991) is considered by many to be one of the true master silversmiths of the 20^th century. Learning metal work during WWII, after the war he returned to his home in the Cochiti Pueblo and began his career in jewelry making. He apprenticed with well-known jeweler Frank Patania and worked in a number of shops in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM.

This beautiful shadowbox design features a single high grade, Manassa turquoise stone. His beautiful hand crafted beads add the final touch to this lovely necklace. The perfect size for either a man or woman. A satin polish graces the entire piece with a heavy silver weight of both the beads and pendant. The pendant measures 2 3/16" long x 1 3/16" wide. The handcrafted beads are 26" long. Hallmarked with J H Q with his early thin H.
