This beautiful snake dancer bolo was hand crafted by well-known Zuni artist John Lucio. Beautiful colors in this bolo. Set with turquoise, jet, Mother of Pearl and abalone shell. This bolo offers the best of John's early work, with his distinct channel inlay snake dancer and precise silver work. John started his jewelry craft in the early 1950's as an apprentice to several of the older masters in Zuni. He soon became a master of the art with his work being very collectable.
The bolo measures 2 1/8"wide by 4 1/4" tall. The total length including his hand-crafted tip is 34" long. John did not use a hallmark on these pieces, but this lovely piece is definitely his creation. There is some wear on the leather cord and can be replaced upon request.
