Description

John Adair (1944) stated in his book titled, The Navajo and Pueblo Silversmiths, that Horace Iule (Aiuli) (c.1899 -1978) had achieved a level of success that enabled him to rely upon his craft for his sole livelihood. He also identified Iule as "one of the two or three best artisans in the Zuni Pueblo."

Horace was best known for his mastery of silver casting and this wonderful belt buckle shows his dedication to detail. 11 aged Blue Gem turquoise stones adds a special touch to the knifewing figure and the overall look of this special buckle. Fine hand stamping, smooth edges of his silver makes this a perfect example of his work. Hallmarked.

It measures 3" long by 1 7/8" tall. Will fit a 1 1/4" belt.
