Navajo artist, Raymond Yazzie, is one of the leading Native American designers and craftsmen in the field today. Both of Raymond's parents were traditional Navajo silversmiths and he grew up observing their style and designs. Raymond apprenticed with brother Lee and learned the art of precision stonework for which he is now famous. His work is collected and displayed worldwide. His most recent exhibition, “Glittering World: Navajo Jewelry of the Yazzie Family,” shown at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian George Heye Center in New York City in 2015-2016, included 330 pieces of the family’s work, focusing on Lee and Raymond. This wonderful piece will be published in the come book, Navajo and Pueblo Jewelry Design (1945-now), by Paula Baxter.

This stunning pendant shows his dedication to detail, with the addition of beautiful Persian turquoise cabochons. A beautiful example of Raymonds timely work from the 1970's, at the young age of 14 or 15.
