Description

This wonderful ingot, Navajo bracelet c.1930's, is set with a beautifully aged, natural Blue Gem turquoise stone. The stone is hand cut with slight natural contours. This bracelet has hand hammered ingot and has very fine detailed stamp work along the sides. The Whirling Log (swastika) is a very old (1890-1940) symbol used by the Navajo and other tribes that predates the negative use of the symbol. It represented the four directions in the tribal beliefs. In February 1940, the tribes banned the use of the symbol.

The bracelet measures 7/8" top center, tapering slightly at curved bottom terminals. The inside measures 5" with a 1 3/8" opening. Slightly adjustable. Not hallmark which was common during this era.
