This is a particularly fine bracelet from the early days of the Santa Fe Railroad, Fred Harvey Hotel and Trading Post period. Made in the 1930’s to be sold to travelers on the new highway or rail system running through the Southwest. Shops that produced multiple pieces of the familiar split shank design employed local Native American artists to complete the work. Each artisan was encouraged to use his or her own designs to create a large variety in which to choose from. I can’t express how remarkable this bracelet is; from the outstanding Cerrillos Mine stones, to the artfully handcrafted appliqués, to the elegant stamping on the beautiful drops and end terminals—this one has it all. There’s no artisan hallmark, but the slight irregularities in the stamping patterns and appliqué positioning, and even the stones being ever so slightly different in size, really speaks to it’s handcrafted nature.

This lovely 1930's bracelet features 2 greenish/blue, Cerrillos turquoise stones. This piece is aged with a wonderful deep patina. The overall integrity of the bracelet is excellent. The top width (stone & silver) is 1 5/8" wide tapering to 1/4" at the bottom terminals. The interior of the cuff measuring 5" with a opening gap of 1".
