Description

This lovely hand wrought 1910's bracelet features beautiful, fine hand stamp and chisel work adorning the top and sides of the bracelet. Center focus of a Swastika which is slightly raised bump out from the back. The overall integrity of the bracelet is excellent, with some wear. A nice deep patina graces the entire bracelet. It measures 1 1/4" wide, with rounded bottom terminals. The interior of the cuff measuring 5 7/8" with a opening gap of 1 1/4". Slightly adjustable.

This very old Navajo cuff bracelet is from the early 1900's. The word Swastika comes from Sanskrit which means "well being'. The swastika symbol was called "whirling logs" by the Navajo. It was used in spiritual healing ceremonies in the mid and late 1880's. They only abandoned the use of it after 1940 due to the stigma placed on it by Germany.
