This lovely Jose Calavaza (1909-), bolo and buckle set has 8 Natural Turquoise stones, surrounded by beautifully crafted snakes. Little is known about his work, but he obviously was a master silversmith. It appears he was from the Santo Domingo pueblo, put possibly worked or lived in Zuni. A wonderful stamped edge adds the final touch to these great pieces. The weight on both is substantial. Both pieces are Hallmarked, JOSE CALAVAZA ZUNI.

The bolo measures 3 1/8" tall by 2" wide. The buckle is 3" long by 2" tall and will fit a 1 1/2" belt. The buckle weighs 80.7 grams.
