The most renowned fetish carvers are the Zuni, who call themselves Asiwi (Ah-she-wee). Traditionally, Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from various materials by the Zuni Indians. These carvings serve a ceremonial purpose for their creators and depict animals and icons integral to their culture. As a form of contemporary Native American art, they are sold with non-religious intentions to collectors worldwide.

This beautifully carved buffalo measures 2 3/8" long by 1/2" tall. The material used is beautifully patterned Picasso Marble. This fetish was purchased at our store, but over time and a lot of moving the artists name was lost.
