Description

Lawrence Saufkie (1934 - 2011) had been a silversmith for over 60 years and his work has been featured in numerous publications and collected by museums such as the Heard Museum, Phoenix, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and the Peabody Museum, Harvard University. He was a master artist and a special man and his work is treasures all over the world.

The turquoise alone in this set was appraised and verified in 2013, by Joe Dan Lowry from the Turquoise Museum in Albuquerque, NM and a copy of this appraisal will accompany the pieces. The piece was also viewed by Bob Brucia, now owner of the Lander mine in Nevada and also verbally verified the stones. This is a true collectors set, with both artist and materials being the best of both!

This outstanding overlay bracelet and matching ring feature 6 stunning Landers turquoise stones. The largest stone measuring 1 1/4" by 1". A beautiful overlay design adds just the perfect finish to this amazing set. It measures 2 3/8" wide at center and tapering to 1 5/8" at bottom terminals, with the interior measuring 6" with a 1 3/16" opening. The ring measures 1 5/6" tall and is a size 10 1/2. The ring can be sized and the bracelet adjusted slightly. Both are hallmarked with his bear and Saufkie.
