Description

John Adair (1944) stated in his book titled, The Navajo and Pueblo Silversmiths, that Horace Iule (Aiuli) (c.1899 -1978) had achieved a level of success that enabled him to rely upon his craft for his sole livelihood. He also identified Iule as "one of the two or three best artisans in the Zuni Pueblo."

Horace was best known for his mastery of silver casting, and this lovely pin shows his dedication to detail. Soft rounded edges of his silver make this a perfect example of his work. A wonderful little pin for so many uses!

It measures 1 1/8" tall by 1 1/8" wide. The pin is not hallmarked, which was common on many of his earlier pieces, but comes with strong attributions.
