Description

John Adair (1944) stated in his book titled, The Navajo and Pueblo Silversmiths, that Horace Iule (Aiuli) (c.1901-1978) had achieved a level of success that enabled him to rely upon his craft for his sole livelihood. He also identified Iule as "one of the two or three best artisans in the Zuni Pueblo."

Horace was best known for his mastery of silver casting and this lovely cross shows his dedication to detail, with fine hand stamped rays surround each of the turquoise stones. Soft, rounded edges of his silver adds the final touch to this piece. It measures 4" long by 2 1/8" wide. Hallmarked. A beautiful
24" hand fabricated Navajo pearl strand accompanies the cross. The beads are heavy, very well crafted and can be removed and worn with other pendants or by themselves.
