Hopi artist Bernard Dawahoya was considered by all to be a master silversmith. His bold and clean designs along with the precise matting or texture he worked into the negative areas of this pieces, made his work easily recognizable. His Hopi name was Masaqueva (Wings of the sun). He was born in the second Mesa village of Shungopavi. Not only a master jeweler, but a respected storyteller and a man of great talents. He passed away in 2010. His work is displayed in Museums across the country and in many publications.

This bold and beautiful Bear paw bolo measures 3" long by 2 5/8" wide, on a black leather cord with 3" silver tips. Hallmarked with his snow cloud in two areas.
