Description

This wonderful second phase concho belt features 6 large, heavy Conchos with a beautifully crafted buckle. The second phase of silver work has been dated from 1900-1930, with the introduction of copper bars placed on the backs of the Conchos to hold the leather. The workmanship of stamping and file work is very well done, with some slight wear. A fairly heavy patina graces the silver. The leather is in good condition but and was probably replaced at some point, but has quite a bit of age also. Circa: around 1910 from all indications.

Each Concho measures 4 ¼” by 3 5/8”, with a slight variation. The beautiful buckle measures 3” by 3 5/8”. The weight is a substantial 1 pound 12 ounces. A great example of the second phase of Native silver work. The entire leather measures 63".
