This stunning butterfly pin/pendant was most certainly crafted by one of the early Zuni artist. There was just a hand full of inlay artists that worked for Trader C.G. Wallace in Zuni, NM between the 1928 into the 1940's. This pretty pin/pendant has the C.G. Wallace code etched on the back, which dates it within this timeline.

Set with absolutely gorgeous, Gem Quality Blue Gem turquoise, jet, Mother of Pearl and abalone shell. This butterfly offers the best of Zuni mosaic inlay work. A deep rainbow patina graces the entire piece. The butterfly measures 2 1/2" wide by 1 3/4" tall. Not hallmark, which was common with many of this early era artists. The pendant loop was added at a later time.
