Zuni cluster work began to appear in the market in and
around the late 1920’s. The designs or clusters refer to similar shape and size
materials cut and arranged in close patterns forming a flower like design. Both
needlepoint and petit point stones are used in cluster designs. This work is
very difficult and time consuming and takes a steady hand and good eyes.
This beautiful Zuni cluster pendant/pin is set with 21 of
the most beautiful Natural Bisbee turquoise cabochons. The colors are just
spectacular in the piece. A fine silver twist wire, repousse and perfectly
placed silver raindrops add the final touches to this gorgeous piece. A deep
patina graces the entire piece, which highlights the beautiful stones. Not
hallmarked, but definitely the work of a master Zuni artist. 1960's or
later.
The pendant measures 2 7/8" by 2 1/2".
Approximately 420 carats of high grade Bisbee turquoise.
