This lovely bolo tie was crafted by Zuni artist Sarah Leekya, daughter of famous fetish carver Leekya Deyuse. She was best known for her fetish carvings, but also did exquisite inlay jewelry for a short period, early in her career. She is one of the first female carvers/jewelers to work and sell her pieces in Zuni.

This 1950's Zuni Thunderbird bolo is inlaid with Blue Gem turquoise that has, beautifully aged color change. Small silver drops accents add the final touch to this great piece. It measures, 1 5/8" long x 1 5/8" wide. A beautiful dark rainbow patina graces the back of the bolo.
