Description

A quality piece by Elliot Qualo, who is considered one of the best stone to stone inlay artist from Zuni. This Vintage concho belt features 9 different Ghan dancers and a gorgeous buckle with impeccable inlay of Mother of Pearl, yellow lip shell, Turquoise, abalone shell and tortoise shell. Depicting each dancer in motion. A stamped & notched silver border adds the final touch to the outer frame design. Not hallmarked but without question his work. His brief career only lasted from 1960's to 1979. One concho shows slight wear on the dark shell, but does not affect the look or integrity of the piece.

The piece is a significant size, with the buckle measuring 4" by 3 3/8" and the concho's measuring 2 5/8" in diameter. The custom leather belt measures 43 1/2" long. Note: A beautiful matching bolo is also available.
