Description

This unique hand-wrought, heavy copper bowl is hallmarked BT by an artist once known, HAND MADE BY INDIANS and the Tewa Thunderbird logo. Beautiful struck stamping can be seen around the inside of the bowl and on the base of the bowl.

The bowl measures 11 1/2" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall. In good condition with some oxidation on the inside of the bowl. Overall, a wonderful piece of history!

Garden of the Gods trading Post (Shop). Operating since 1929 adjacent to Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado. Silver, copper, aluminum; jewelry and decorative items. Garden of the Gods Trading Post was owned by Charles and Esther Strausenback. San Ildefonso artist Awa Tsireh worked here from about 1930 to the late 1940s. The logo is based on a painting by Awa Tsireh. The BT hallmark is mentioned in the Messier family's new book out now on the history of Garden of the Gods.
