This pretty designed silver bolo tie was created by Isleta Artist Dennis Chavez and Navajo Artist Artie Yellowhorse. Dennis has worked with Artie for many years and is a Master silversmith in Artie's eyes and to those that love is work. The design in silver is quite beautifully crafted with the setting of a deep blue Lapis stone. Hallmarked D. Chavez w/ Yellowhorse.
The bolo measures 2 1/8" tall by 1 1/2" wide with 2" tips. The black braided leather with tips total length is 38" long.
This bolo is one of many collected over years by a Physician/professor that wore his bolos every day to his classroom and lectures. Many have small stickers showing the date he wore them and in what class he was teaching. It's an honor to share some of his special bolos with others.
