Hand crafted by renowned Hopi artist Roy Talahaftewa. This amazing concho belt of sterling overlay, features 9 detailed ceremonial Hopi figures and 5 harvest butterflies. Roy began his career in jewelry making in the 1970’s and eventually presented his work at the Heard Museum Indian Art show in 1981, where he won Best of Division, Best of Classification, and Best of Show. Roy’s continues to make beautiful jewelry and also finds time to work with the non-profit Hopi Pu'tavi Project, Inc., where he teaches Hopi youth the art of silversmithing, and is an active advocate and promoter of Hopi artists at Second Mesa on the reservation.

This concho belt offers the best of Roy’s work, with incredible design and precise detail of each piece. The buckle measures 3 3/8” by 3 ¼”. Each concho measures 3” by 2 ¾” slightly domed, with the 5 butterflies measuring 2 5/8" by 1 ¼”. The soft black leather is 60” long, which can be cut to a custom length. A beautiful soft matt finish adds the final touch to this great belt. Roy’s work is so beautiful, it has become desired by collectors around the world.
