This detailed FOB is from the early days of the Santa Fe Railroad, Fred Harvey Hotel and Bell Trading Post period. to be sold to travelers on the new highway or rail system running through the Southwest. Shops that produced multiple pieces of the familiar heavily machined stamped designs, employed local Native American artists to complete the work by setting stones and applying pre-stamped out ornaments. Each artisan was encouraged to use his or her own design patterns to create a large variety in which to choose from. Fred Harvey era jewelry is widely collected as an antique jewelry genre valued for its Southwest look and historic context.

This lovely 1930's/60's FOB features a lovely deep green turquoise stone. This piece is aged with a wonderful deep patina. The overall integrity of the piece is excellent. Stamped sterling. It measures 1 5/8" tall by 3/4" wide.
