Third generation carver Lena Boone is the daughter of Edna Leki,
who is believed to have been the first female fetish carver at Zuni, and the
granddaughter of Teddy Weahkee. Lena and her sister, Dinah Gasper, have
established reputations as master carvers, with their carvings highly desired by collectors. This lovely Eagle is carved from colorful Chrysocolla. The offering bundle consists of turquoise and coral branches that are tied with sinew. A spiny oyster shell carved arrow is used as the foundation. The eyes are inlaid with coral. Unsigned. This wonderful fetish measures 1 3/4" long by 7/8" tall. A wonderful piece of art from an amazing artist. c: 1946-.
