Description

This stunning, heavy ingot bracelet by Dan Simplicio, c. late 1940, is masterfully set with three large, early Herget Turquoise cabochons. The Herget mine was located near Elfrida, Arizona and produced only a small amount of turquoise most often a pretty medium to dark blue/green. G.G. Wallace mined this location for a short period, before trading the lease to Lucky Brown.

The stones were hand cut, with Dan leaving the natural nugget contours on each stone. The center stone measures 2 3/8" long by 1 1/2" wide and sits approximately 1/2" high in the bezel.
This bracelet offers the best of Simplicio's work, with his beautiful circular stamped sun rays and precise scalloped bezels.

The bracelet measures 2 7/8" top-center, tapering to 2 1/2" wide including the silver, on both sides. There is no hallmark on this piece, which was common during this time period, but undoubtedly the work of Dan Simplicio. All three stones are set on a heavy ingot shank. Weight 168 grams.
