Lavina Tsikewa has an established reputation as a master carver. She carved fetishes in the traditional style for which the family had become known for. Lavina is the daughter of David Tsikewa and continues making fetishes today.
These 33 birds, bears and foxes are carved from a beautiful mix of materials which include jet, coral, turquoise, purple spiny oyster, green serpentine, white and yellow shell and are strung on very fine Santo Domingo olive shell heishi. Unsigned, which is common with most fetish necklaces.
These fetishes measure approx. 1" to 1 1/4" long. The necklace is a total 30" long including the cones. A wonderful necklace from a special family of carvers.
