Description

This striking Silver Overlay bolo is by Hopi Silversmith Phillip Secaquaptewa (c:1948-2003). Phillip (Weseoma) began producing in 1973. He learned his trade at Hopicraft. Beautifully detailed with precise workmanship. This heavy bolo features a full figure with inlay Malachite and shell on the edge. Phillip was well-known for his bold and stunning designs.

The bolo measures 3" tall by 1 3/8" wide, the tips are 2 3/8" long. Total leather length is 44", including tips.

This bolo is one of many collected over years by a Physician/professor that wore his bolos every day to his classroom and lectures. Many have small stickers showing the date he wore them and in what class he was teaching. It's an honor to share some of his special bolos with others.
