Description

This lovely Sleeping Beauty turquoise bolo tie and matching tips was hand-crafted by Navajo artist Emma Bonney. Active: mid to late 20th century. The stones are flat set channel inlay, with what is called a fish scale design. Emma was well-known for this style of inlay. The workmanship is perfect on this piece and the wonderful slight color changes of the turquoise from age is beautiful! A very nice bolo that looks lovely on. Hallmarked ELB.

The bolo measure, 2" tall by 1 3/4" wide. The bolo has great, matching bolo tips that are 1 1/2" long by 7/8' wide. The total length of the braided leather including tips is 40" long.

This bolo is one of many collected over years by a Physician/professor that wore his bolos every day to his classroom and lectures. Many have small stickers showing the date he wore them and in what class he was teaching. It's an honor to share some of his special bolos with others.
