The most renowned fetish carvers are the Zuni, who call themselves Asiwi (Ah-she-wee). Traditionally, Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from various materials by the Zuni Indians. These carvings serve a ceremonial purpose for their creators and depict animals and icons integral to their culture. As a form of contemporary Native American art, they are sold with non-religious intentions to collectors worldwide.

This wonderful little frog was carved by a Zuni artist. We no longer have the makers name, as it has been stored for many years and was purchased at our business in Gallup, NM. The frog measures 7/8" long by 1/2" tall by 1/2" wide. The material used is a very colorful green/yellow serpentine. It has a wonderful face!
