This lovely pin is the work of well-know Hopi artist Morris Robinson. Morris Robinson (Talawytewa) was born at Oraibi. He began his career in Phoenix AZ in the early 1920's and continued his silversmithing, until retiring in 1963. He working at several different Indian Jewelry stores in Arizona, where his pieces became highly desired by collectors. He used his personally crafted stamps, creating intricate and amazing designs.
This pin offers the best of Morris Robinson's amazing abilities as an artist and also a vintage piece of history. The pin is set with a beautiful Natural Blue Gem turquoise stone with a nice overlay design. A smooth patina graces the entire pin.
The pin measures 2" long by 7/8" wide. The pin is hallmarked with Morris's snake and H. Excellent condition.
