A heart felt connection of old and new, this stunning necklace was painstakingly crafted by Navajo artist Darryl Dean Begay. The five Leekya Deyuse natural turquoise carved leaves had been carefully stored over many decades and came to life with the steady hands of Darryl Begay. The turquoise is from one of the early finds of the Herget turquoise mine in Cochise county AZ. The carved stone is completely natural, with its natural surface and a low luster matt finish. Carefully crafted textured silver frames, with 1/8" bezels hold tightly around each and every curve of the stones. Ten beautifully cast ornamental separators depicting historic Zuni pottery figures were carved and cast by Darryl, bringing the connection with Leekya's Zuni Pueblo history into the piece. As Darryl stated, "A challenge and an honor to work with carvings by the Master artist Leekya Deyuse".

The necklace measures 18" long. The center leaf measures 1 7/8" long by 1 3/8" wide.
