This stunning, Navajo bracelet is set with five matching Natural Villa Grove Turquoise cabochons. The Villa Grove mine, once known as Hall mine, is located northwest of the town of Villa Grove in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. The Mine was last owned by George Musik and before that by Menalis Winfield. Mining at this location started as early as the 1890’s for copper with major turquoise operations beginning in the early 1900’s. The Villa Grove turquoise has not been actively mined since the early 1960's. This bracelet was hand fabricated by a Navajo silversmith Roger Skeet. This piece is not signed, but is known to be by the named artist from family providence. The high domed center stone measures 1" long by 9/16" wide. Each stone is set in a hand fabricated smooth bezel, perfectly framed with silver twist wire. Beautiful hand crafted drops and cylinders surround each stone, with a precisely stamped, heavy split shank frame. The bracelet measures 1 3/8" top-center, tapering to 5/8" at the smooth capped ends with an inside measurement of 5 7/8" with a 7/8" gap.
