The most renowned fetish carvers are the Zuni, who call themselves Asiwi (Ah-she-wee). Traditionally, Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from various materials by the Zuni Indians. These carvings serve a ceremonial purpose for their creators and depict animals and icons integral to their culture. As a form of contemporary Native American art, they are sold with non-religious intentions to collectors worldwide.

This wonderful big frog was carved by Ricky Laahty, who is known as the frog prince of Zuni. He is a well-known and respected carver, whose frogs have the most wonderful faces and bodies. He truly captures the look of his frogs in the most wonderful ways possible.

The frog measures 4" long by 2 3/8" wide by 1 1/8" tall. The material used is a very colorful banded green/yellow serpentine. Hallmarked.
