Description

This stunning squash blossom necklace was handcrafted by well-known Hopi artist Lewis Lomay. c: (1913-1996). He began his career in jewelry in 1930's. He was a student of Ambrose Roanhorse and worked for a long period of time with Frank Patania Sr. in Santa Fe NM. His designs were both traditional Hopi with a touch of European influence at times. His work is highly collectable, as well it should be.

This beautiful necklace has a definite European touch, with simple design on the 18 blossoms and heavy naja. Beautifully crafted beads adds the final touch to this piece. This lovely necklace was created during his time working with Frank Patania in Santa Fe, NM. A soft patina graces the entire piece.

The necklace measure 30"long, which includes a 4" extender that allows the wearer to adjust the length and look. Early Santa Fe Hallmark, Lomay Silver Santa Fe.
