Non-Native. This ornate cross bolo is hand-fabricated work. The artist is Tom Wheeler, with intricate work throughout this bolo. Tom is an accomplished artist and silversmith, living in Utah.

We found out just recently that this bolo was made for a Gene Kilmer around 1980. Gene was a real estate developer in California. This bolo was commissioned by Gene, as it is the Logo of his Indian Springs estate, which was the Roy Rogers ranch. Gene was the father of beloved actor Val Kilmer. Gene was an advocate for the Shriner Children's Hospital and the Santa Fe Indian School in Santa, Fe N.M.

Each piece is so precisely placed, creating a beautiful center cross in a shadow box design. The center circle of 14k gold surrounded with turquoise and iron wood is eye catching. All of the gold drops, ends of the arrows and the bottom of the beautiful feathers are solid gold. Each feather is beautifully crafted! The combination of an arrowhead as the main silver design with the addition of a cross, makes this bolo quite special. This bolo has some weight. 197 grams.

The bolo measures 4 3/4" tall by 3" wide with the smaller arrowhead measuring 1 7/8” by 1 ¼”. Total length is 45” long.
