Description

This stunning pendant/pin is just one piece from an amazing career of over 25 years that French-Moroccan born Eveli Sabatie created. C:1940 -. She is not Native American, but because of her history and close relationship to Master Hopi artist Charles Loloma, Eveli’s work is accepted by all and loved by many. Her 3 ½ years spent side by side learning, watching and fascinated by Charles’s work, she soon was creating masterpieces of her own. She retired from jewelry making in the late 90’s and now lives in Tucson Arizona. As she has stated, she is now giving back to people part of herself by teaching yoga to many that will benefit. Her life story is worth reading about in her new book. Eveli: A Jeweler’s Memoir.

This beautiful mosaic inlaid piece depicts two large elephants of fossil ivory with the center piece of a stunning jasperized fossil shell (Coquina Script Stone) from India. The center piece is gold bezeled with added gold prongs. Gold fossil shell accents are seen on the tips of each elephant's trunk. When looking at the back, Eveli has left it open, so the beauty of the fossil shell can be seen. It measures 3" long by 2 1/4" tall. Hallmarked EVEli. With sterling and 14K gold on a small gold plate.
