Description

This amazing combination of gold and webbed blue is beautifully crafted in the butterfly pendant by Navajo artist Darryl Dean Begay. The 18K gold tufa cast wings surround matching webbed stones of Widow Maker turquoise. Flawless casting with defined raised textures in the wings and the final touch to this lovely pendant. Hallmarked and 18K. The size is 2 1/2" wide by 2 1/4" long. A 20" rope chain in 14K will be included.

Born on the Navajo Reservation, Darryl Dean Begay was raised in the traditional Navajo way of life. He is from a family of artists; his grandmother was a weaver and his grandfather a ceremonial sandpainter. It is from this background that his art emerges, creating one-of-a-kind, jewelry pieces in sterling silver and gold.

Darryl has exhibited his work and won awards at many shows, including the Santa Fe Indian Market, the Heard Museum Market, Pueblo Grande Indian Market, the Wheelwright Museum, and the Eight Northern Pueblos Show. Darryl has become one of the most recognized Navajo artists of his time!
