Description

Simplicio was the first to use branch coral in its natural form and the first to set rough-cut coral nuggets on rings. These lovely earring are the perfect example of Dan's style of jewelry making. This lovely pair is set with Natural Morenci turquoise cabochons that have a natural contoured surface and deep ox blood coral freeform cabochons that are gem quality. This pair offers the best of Simplicio's work, with his beautiful stamped leaf's, the circular stamped sun rays and precise scalloped bezels. The earrings measure 1 1/8" by 3/4" and have clip on backs. No signatures or maker marks but definitely the work of Simplicio. Circa: 1940's. These earring are from a estate collection with provenance from the original owner.

His work is cited in every major publication chronicling 20th century Zuni jewelers.
