This beautiful two strand tab necklace features several large carved tabs and carvings by master carver Leekya Deyuse. Acquired several years back from a collection that originated from the owners of the Overpass Curio TP, Petrified Forest, AZ. The Trading post was open some 70+ years ago and has long sense been closed and no longer there.

This great necklace has white shell heishi, orange/white spiny oyster shell tabs and gorgeous carved natural turquoise tabs, heishi, shaped nuggets and 3 special carvings. 2 rarely seen round shaped (to look like shells) turquoise tabs and a beautiful kite shaped tab. The final addition to this lovely necklace are 2 natural turquoise heishi Joclas.

Leekya Deyuse is the most renowned fetish carver from Zuni, NM. (1898-1966) He worked for Trader C.G. Wallace for most of his career and crafted some of the most beautiful carvings from this earlier era. His talent was carried on after his passing through the carvings by his 3 children, grand and great grandchildren.

The total length of the necklace portion is 31” long, with the addition of 2 ¼” long Joclas. Included in the length is a short 1 ¾” traditional wrap at the top.
