Hosteen Goodluck was widely respected as one of the most important, early Navajo silversmiths. He was a master jeweler and active from the 1890's to 1930's. First Phase silversmith that worked for C. G. Wallace as early as 1923. Mr. Wallace was so impressed with this man's talents, that he moved him from Houck, AZ to Zuni, NM to do cast work and as a die maker. C. G. supplied him with fine Swiss files, which he used to make dies. Many of Hosteens and Ettsity Tsosie's dies were shared with other Zuni and Navajo smiths and encouraged them to do silver work. Hosteen was a master in hand-hammered, bezel set, stamping and repousse silver jewelry.

This beautiful classic 1920's concho belt offers second phase crafting of ingot silver. Hand hammered, each concho has beautiful repousse and detailed stamp work. The design is set with beautiful Natural turquoise cabs, that are set in hand cut bezels

The back of each concho has a single copper bar weaved through a wide, soft leather belt measuring 1 1/4" wide. Each of the 6 concho's measure 3 1/4" long by 2 3/4" wide, with the ties measuring 2 5/8" by 1 1/4". The amazing buckle measuring 3 3/4" by 3 1/4". The belt has a lovely patina from age, having been stored carefully in a private collection for many years. The entire belt measures 41" long.
