Description

This is a particularly fine bracelet from the early days of the Santa Fe Railroad, Fred Harvey Hotel and Trading Post period. Made from 1909 into the 30's to be sold to travelers on the new highway or rail system running through the Southwest. Shops that produced multiple pieces of the familiar heavily machined stamped designs, employed local Native American artists to complete the work by setting stones and applying pre-stamped out ornaments. Each artisan was encouraged to use his or her own design patterns to create a large variety in which to choose from. Fred Harvey era jewelry is widely collected as an antique jewelry genre valued for its Southwest look and historic context.

This silver bracelet has several areas of repousse in the center and sides. Beautiful variety of stamp work. This bracelet has a smooth, even deep patina on the sterling silver. It measures 1 1/2" across the center. Inside measures 5 3/4" with a 1 1/8" opening. Slightly adjustable.
