Frank Vacit was one of the most respected and talented Zuni jewelers of his era. He mastered the technique of channel inlay, along with amazing mosaic inlay. His ability to create intricate designs is unrivaled, even today.

This recognizable humming bird design offers the best of Vacit's work, with his distinct mosaic inlay of black jet, orange abalone shell, Blue Gem turquoise and coral. Delicate stamping around the frame of the buckle adds the final touch to this outstanding piece. The buckle measures 2 1/2" long by 1 3/4" wide and will accept a 1" belt. This buckle has a C.G. Wallace code etched on the back which indicates it was made between 1940 and 1946.
